i KADA Dance
At i KADA Dance, we’ve served the dance community in the NYC area for over 8 years. Since 2011, i KADA has been using movement as a way to impact the community and change the lives of the dancers that come to us from all over the globe. The name ‘KADA’ stands for Korean American Dance Association. It is an homage to the cultural background of Founder Mee Jung. The goal of i KADA Dance is to create a cultural exchange through the arts.
KoDaFe in NYC
“KoDaFe in NYC” began six years ago in 2013 and stands for Korean Dance Festival. In that first show we had 5 dance companies participating. Last year we had 18 companies from around the world take part in our festival which spanned three days. For 2019 we are expanding to four days and will be adding a competition. "KoDaFe" is an opportunity for Choreographers, dancers, and other artists to get together and put on a wonderful showcase under the theme given for that festival.
We are seeking male and female dancers that are strong in ballet, contemporary and improvisation techniques for the 2019 season.
1) Attend weekly company rehearsals
2) Attend company open classes
3) Act as an assistant to the Artistic Director and/or Associate Director in open classes as needed
4) Participate in multiple pieces in KoDaFe in NYC, The Company Annual Showcase, and more.
6) Attend necessary photoshoots, video shoots, workshops, auditions, informal performances, etc.
While the workshop is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended. Through the workshop you'll be able to work one-on-one with the Artistic Director, Mee, to gain live feedback while dancing. In addition to this, you'll also be able to get to know i KADA Dance's style. The workshop does have a $25 fee and below are the acceptable payment methods.
